Course content
|
1. Techniques of psychological training focusing the development and cultivation of the person (or client) centred approach in social work. Active listening and empathy training. Following interaction games are the most frequent in this phase (particular techniques are selected according to the groups´ structure and dynamics and to broader context): To be with him; Silence in the two; Mirror; Snake; Statues. 2. Assertiveness of self-assertion. Training of assertive and self-assertive techniques, giving and accepting assertive praise; persuasion of the others, persuasion. Following interaction games are the most frequent in this phase (particular techniques are selected according to the groups´ structure and dynamics and to broader context): Games with conflicts and self-assertion; Bazar; Who was it? Idealists and realists; Clearing; Election speech; I would like to, you cannot; But I; Contradictory interests; Sipping; Pressure and contra-pressure; Party; Journey with a balloon; One has to go out; Human machine etc. 3. Techniques of social psychological training focusing learning group structure and dynamics. Following interaction games are the most frequent in this phase (particular techniques are selected according to the groups´ structure and dynamics and to broader context): Group boat; We are shooting a film; Space flight; Mannequins etc. 4. Relaxation and psycho hygiene. Training techniques of relaxation and psycho hygiene. Jacobson´s progressive relaxation, relaxation lying, siting, standing, or Věchovský protective meditation. 5. Social support. Training verbal techniques of giving social support to the others. Expressing positive emotions, e.g. "thistle and rose" technique etc. Training non-verbal techniques of giving social support to the others (strokes, haptic contact, and body-talk). 6. Training techniques of negative emotions and aggressive impulsions abreaction. Dynamic ventilation techniques training. 7. Training techniques of working with a body based on the Pesso-Boyden therapy. 8. Focusing. Training the bodily based experience in everyday life, bodily based experience in helping process, reflective training of bodily based experience, and bodily based experience as "transition ritual" between developed competencies, its place and function in the social work process. Mindfulness as implicating factor of personal development and determinant of helping process, reflective training of mindfulness. 9. "Loving kindness". "Loving kindness" as motivating factor of empathetic attitude of a social worker, reflective training of the loving kindness attitude. 10. Group shared experience in relation to the named development techniques, group reflection and self-reflection. 11. Special social work techniques. Following interaction games are the most frequent in this phase (particular techniques are selected according to the groups´ structure and dynamics and to broader context): Collage; Akme-Bolt; Social status; Family; Curve of life; Evaluating scales; Circle of emotions; Circle of activities; What am I like? Deal; Never-ending fairy-tale; Dragon. 12. Special social work techniques with selected clients´ groups. Using special techniques of social psychological training in social work with specific clients (e.g. people endangered by domestic violence, asylums clients etc.).

Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on the acquisition of special techniques of social work, the application of knowledge of psychosocial training in the field of social action and development work on the cultivation of basic professional skills.
Student: has basic knowledge about the expressive methods in a group social work. Student: can suggest appropriate expressive techniques of social work in regard of present phase of a group development and group members. The target of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills which they can use when they are preparing and realizing activation programmes in social work.

This discipline is closed with a credit which is conditioned with active attendance and at least 80% attendance in seminars.
