Course content
|
1. Labour legislation, its subject, position in the legal system, function, sources. The goal of this part is to show basic information about labour law as an independent legal branch, define its subject and also to show the continuity of labour law and other law branches in the legal order of the CR. 2. Activity, interpretation and usage of the Czech labour law norms. This part follows the students´ knowledge of legal propaedeutic and makes the general knowledge more specific in the frame of labour law. 3. Basic principles of labour law. In this part students learn the basic principles formulated by the labour act, but also basic principles of constitutional character which are related to working relationship. 4. Working relationships. In this part students learn the term, kinds, and participants of working relationships. 5. Creating a working contract and its changes. In this part students learn the circumstances of creating a working contract between an employer and an employee, individual kinds of working contracts, and the main part is working contract and its features. 6. The ways of the working contract termination. Individual ways of the working contract termination are the main topic of this part, their diversification according the kind of legal act which can be unilateral or bilateral; terminating working contact by a legal event or an administrative decision. 7. Additional labour work relationships. In this part students learn how to contract and about necessary features of contracts for work realized out of working contract, agreement on work activities and work under contract. 8. Working time and time off. Students will learn with the legally defined length of working hours, division of working hours, and the legal definition of overtime work. Then we will discuss the breaks, holidays, and working barriers. 9. Work benefits. The subject of this part is the valid legislation of work benefits in business and non-business sphere and replacement of the costs connected to work provision for employees. 10. Care for employees. Legislation of care of employees consists of three basic areas which are care for the working conditions of employees, care for professional development of employees and catering for employees. 11. Responsibility relationships in labour law. This part will show characteristic features of labour law responsibility and individual kinds of labour responsibility including unjust enrichment. 12. Safety and health protection when working. Valid legislation about safety and health protection when working defined by the labour act.

Learning outcomes
|
The discipline provides basic information concerning the notion of labour law and its position in the law systém; it informs about the essentials aspects of individual labour law. Very important are practical skills of students in an area of recruitment, especially in drafting contracts, agreements, documents with internal procedures, etc.
- Student knows the basic terminology and institutions of labour law. - Student knows the valid legislation of labour relationships and other relationships in the frame of the right to work. - Student can use gained theoretical knowledge in model examples. - Student can interpret and use the legal norms of labour law. - Student can work out simple labour law documents, especially working contract, agreements work activities out of working contract and simple internal documents of an employer.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Mark
To gain the credit it is necessary to fulfil all three correspondence tasks formulated in the study material. To get the credit is a necessary condition to attend the exam. The exam has a written test form.
