Course content
|
1. Basis of the private law relationships. The goal of this topic is to introduce the terminology and subjects of the private law, basic principles of this type of law, and general questions of the private law relationships. 2. Absolute possession law - factual law. Basis of the possession law, explanation of the term thing and typology of things, ownership and co-ownerships. 3. Absolute possession law - factual law towards strangers´ things. Definition of the lien, easements, pledge and the right to build. 4. Private law and the protection of a consumer. Two basic levels of the protection of the consumer in the private law, these are consumer contracts and special legislation of the contract types of the private law. 5. Relative possession law - obligation relationships. The origin, change and extinction of the obligations, basic types of obligations from contracts, e.g. purchase contract, loan contract, contract for work, rent contract. 6. Absolute possession law - inheritance law. The subject of this topic is the basic institutes of the inheritance law, and individual ways to inherit something - inheritance by law, inheritance based on inheritance contract and testament. 7. Liabilities arising from torts and other legal reasons. Legislation of the general responsibility for damage and the kinds of special responsibility. Ways and extend of damages and the legislation of the unjust enrichment. 8. The legislation of the legal persons. General legislation of the legal persons, especially corporations, associations, institutes, and funds. Legislation of the businessmen based on the civil code. 9. Business corporations. The legislation of the business corporations and cooperatives based mainly on the act for business corporations. Student will learn mainly about the public business companies, limited companies, company with limited liability, joint-stock company and about cooperatives. 10. Family law. This topic concludes the introduction of the legislation of the relations between husband and wife, parents and children, and the participants of the foster care. 11. The term, the basic principles and subjects of the civil court procedure. Basic principles of the civil court procedure, procedure-law relations, subjects of the court procedure, power and jurisdiction of the courts. 12. Civil process. Process by court in the first level, appeals, executions.

Learning outcomes
|
The course objective is to introduce the students in the fundamentals of the private part of the legal order of the Czech republic. The students are introduced in the fundamental terms of every part of private law and later practical examples of everyday practice.
- Student knows the basic principles and institutes of the private part of legislation order. - Student knows the basis of the effective legislation of the private-law acts. - Student can use gained theoretical knowledge in model situations. - Student can interpret and use law acts from the private part of legislation. - Student can work out simple contract, mainly based on the private legislation. - Student can write simple court filings and other documents of a private-law character.

Mark
To gain the credit, it is necessary to work out the correspondence task from the study material. To get to the exam it is necessary to gain the credit. The exam has a written test form.
