Course content
1. The characteristics of demanding situations in personal management in relation to the human psychics. (Psychological mechanism of their rise and development, selected terms from the social psychology). 2. Personality of the leading professional and interpersonal relationships (styles of leadership, relationships in the workplace, communication of the leader, usual communication situations). 3. Demanding situations and emotions (principles of effective mastering the demanding situations). 4. Demanding interviews (characteristics, principles). 5. Selective interviews (characteristics, principles, mistakes in the interview). 6. Evaluating interviews (types of evaluation, process of an interview, principles of an interview). 7. Unpleasant interviews (preparation, characteristics, personal interview, critical interview, dismissive interview). 8. Conflicts (causes, approaches towards conflict solutions, types of conflicts). 9. Principles of conflict management (wrong procedures, wanted strategies, acrimonious conflict). 10. Other demanding situations (managing the meetings, stage fright during a presentation, pathological communication, accepting criticism, setting tasks, telling and unpleasant news). 11. Principles of the leaders´ psycho-hygiene (self-understanding, positive thinking, sleep and relaxation, time-management, emotional auto-regulation, assertive no). 12. Burn-out syndrome (definition of the burn-out syndrome, risky factors, symptoms, prevention, and cure).

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with psychological mechanisms of demanding situations in personal management, e.g. when carrying out difficult interviews with employees, giving critique, dealing with difficult situations such as conflict, stress, decision making under pressure, stage fright, the necessity to present and assert opinions or measures, meeting direction. To introduce students to the area of mental health of managerial staff.
- Student characterizes demanding situation in personal management. - Student names the principles of the effective solutions of particular demanding situations. - Student can explain the importance of psycho-hygiene of the leader. - Student describes individual parts of psycho-hygiene. - Student defines the burn-out syndrome and the principles of its rise and prevention. - Student knows the expert terminology of the discipline. - Student can solve the conflicts with maintaining the strategy and mistakes elimination in solving conflicts. - Student proceeds according the principles of interview management in the demanding interviews. - Student can tell unpleasant news, criticism, manage a personal or evaluating interview. - Student recognizes the burn-out symptoms. - Student masters a quick relaxation. - Student is able to use the gained knowledge and skills in dealing with colleagues, bosses, subordinates and clients. Student can easily find appropriate way of dealing and communication, especially in the demanding communication situations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Active attendance in the lessons, sending the set task by the set date and a written test. In case of absence: 1. send the correspondence task by the set date, 2. elaborate the manager´s psycho-hygiene topic with using at least three titles of without internet and the students book; important part of the task is the bibliography in its proper form, it is possible to use sources out of the recommended list. Send it via EDIS 14 days before the colloquium takes place, 3. evidence the elaboration of all written tasks and questions in the students book - send them to the lecturer.
