Course content
|
1. Strategic management (definition, development of the strategic concepts). 2. Process of strategic management (phases of strategic management). 3. Basic premises of the future functions of an organization (vision, mission, development intentions). 4. General external milieu of an organization and its analysis (types and influences of the general external milieu, analysis of the factors of the macro-environment, alternatives of the strategic scenarios). 5. Strategic analysis of the field´s environment (analysis of the branches and concurrence environment, possible ways to analyse the concurrence, customers and other influencers). 6. Strategic analysis of the internal sources and abilities of an organization (types of internal sources, types of analysis and their usage). 7. Complex strategic analysis (SWOT analysis, key factors of the success and SPACE method). 8. Setting the strategic goals (general and specific goals of an organization, SMARTER goals, goals management, and job performance management). 9. Formulating a strategy (types of strategy, generating, evaluating and agreeing on a strategy). 10. Creating strategic plans (implementation and realization plan). 11. Implementation and realization of a strategy (reinforcing and accepting a strategy, program of implementation). 12. Evaluation and control of fulfilling the strategic plans (monitoring and control, techniques of control, and measuring the results and achievements of an organization).

Learning outcomes

- Student defines the basic terms of strategic management and knows the relations between them. - Student knows the basic principles and approaches of the strategic management. - Student can explain the phases of the strategic management cycle. - Student knows the basic analytical tools of the strategic management - Student can set the basic premises and strategic intentions of a particular organization. - Student diagnoses and can analyse the factors of internal and external milieu. - Student can work out a development plan of an organization. - Student is able to use knowledge and skills, and thanks to this to work out an organization development plan which could be used in practice of an organization, in which the student works.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Mark
To gain the credit it is necessary the student´s active attendance during the tutorial and fulfilling the correspondence task. In case of some absences, student can use at least five situation analyses. The test is oral and one of its parts is a discussion on a fulfilled correspondence task.
