Learning outcomes
The course is focused on theoretical and practical mastering of qualitative research strategy, specific atten-tion is paid to methods applied in differentiated types of qualitative research. The course will also explain the logic of mixed design, possibilities and limits of the combination of research approaches and methods, principles of preparation and implementation of mixed research. Approaches and methods are explained and demonstrated on examples of concrete empirical studies and practiced on students' own research tasks. Aims: Students will understand research paradigms and possibilities of their combination. They are able to apply the acquired knowledge to solving more demanding research tasks, evaluate an adequate strategy, assess the validity, reliability and possibilities of generalization of sociological information. They can create a plan of basic types of qualitative research, prepare and implement research, incl. processing, analysis and interpretation of qualitative data. They will be able to design and carry out a mixed-design research design. Syllabus (linked to the Qualitative Research course)
