Course content
1. What is coaching Definition of coaching - anchoring the term in various theories. 2. Definition of coaching in the frame of developing methods. Definition of the benefits of coaching in comparison to other developing methods (training, courses, mentoring, counselling, etc.). 3. Basic abilities of a coach Overview of the key abilities of a coach. 4. Certification system for coaches Overview of the professional associations of coaches and their accreditation systems. How to choose the right coach. 5. basic principles of setting the goals of coaching Assessment of the goals as the basic presumption of the coaching process. Parameters of a correctly assessed goal. SMART goal. 6. Selected models and tools of coaching Model of coaching process/meeting - GROW model. 7. Coaching questions Open and close questions. Typical questions for each phase of the GROW model. Other tools of coaching - scales, self-reflection, visualization, etc. 8. Role of the coached Presumptions for coaching within the coached. Fears connected to coaching. 9. Coaching in an organization: basic applications of coaching. Internal and external coaches. Contact and the contracting authority in the process of coaching. Coaching process in an organization. 10. Barriers of coaching Barriers of coaching in an organization. 11. Coaching as a leading style Basic principles of coaching as a leading style. Manager as a coach - presumptions, troubles and advantages of coaching for a manager. 12. Evaluation of coaching Possible ways of evaluating coaching from the point of view of an assessed goal and the point of view of a shift in skills and attitudes of the coached.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the basic principles of coaching at such a level that it could begin graduate actively use. Graduate will be able to define coaching compared to other development methods and define when coaching is appropriate to use in the development of client/employee due to its benefits. Graduates will be able to identify opportunities for the application of coaching within their working activities.
- Student can define coaching and describe its advantages for developing methods. - Student can name professional organizations in coaching and basic abilities of a coach. - Student knows basic tools for coaching, especially GROW model and basic principles of a well assessed goal. - Student can name basic applications of coaching in organization and possible ways of evaluation of coaching. - Student can manage coaching interview according the GROW model. - Student can assess the goal according to SMART parameters with the coached. - Student can use questions within the coaching interview. - Student can create a real project of evaluation of coaching. - Student is able to identify and evaluate the opportunity to use coaching within his/her working activities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Colloquium. Student must work out the correspondence task and be active during the presence part of education.
