Learning outcomes

The course introduces qualitative methods of research with a special focus on the field research among religious communities. The students will learn about the methodological background of the qualitative research in social sciences. They will learn about the methods of data gathering (participant observation, semi-structured interview etc.) and data analysing (thematic or narrative analysis, Grounded Theory etc.). The pros and cons of their application will be discussed. The students will learn how to practically apply some of them. The aim of this course is to provide the students with a solid knowledge as well as the practical skill in the use of the methods available in the qualitative research.
