Course content
1. Definition of the issue of integration of foreigners (key terms, definitions, typology) 2. Historical context, development after 1989 3. Structural dimensions of integration (labor market, education and skills, housing) 4. Cultural dimensions of integration (language, leisure activities, information about life in society) 5. Interactive dimensions of integration (social relations, contacts with authorities and institutions) 6. Identification dimension of integration (subjective identification with society) 7. Legislative framework - Conception of integration of foreigners, role of EU legislation 8. Institutions and organizations ensuring the integration of foreigners 9. Centers supporting the integration of foreigners as a key instrument of integration at the local level 10. Main groups of foreigners by country of origin and their specifics 11. International comparison, examples of models of integration of foreigners in selected EU countries 12. Current situation, the biggest current challenges in the area of integration of foreigners

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the topic of integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic using both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The course will familiarize with the definition of the term integration, the development of the approach to this issue and the current situation. It will focus on all areas of integration in relation to current legislation and practice so that the graduate knows the functioning of the entire system, including the activities of all relevant institutions. They will also know the specifics of adaptation strategies of the main groups of foreigners by country of origin, as well as examples of different integration models from selected European countries.
After completing the course, students will be able to understand the problems of integration of foreigners and understand it in a broader context.
