Course content
|
Content and methodological definition of the discipline. Symbolic and sacral concept of space. Historical overview of religious geography and geography of religion. The importance of natural spatial elements for religious systems. Religious motivated ways of changing natural space. The importance of physical geography for the current map of religious systems. The importance of historical and political geography for the current map of religious systems. The importance of economic geography and demography for the current map of religious systems. Occurrence of major religious systems in different parts of the world.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquire the basic orientation in questions of interrelationship between religion and geography.

Knowledge of geography at secondary school level.

Oral exam
Acquisition of knowledge from lectures and basic literature (handbook + article by R. Matlovič).
