Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to discuss ethnicity and its basic definition and conceptualization. Two basic concepts of ethnicity will be presented through the lens of realism / essentialism and social construction.
Students should be able to describe, explain and critically reflect the analytical category "ethnicity". Students will be able to define the basic concept of ethnicity, explain ethnic classification and social organization of cultural diversity, understand the conceptualization of ethnicity and nationalism, present the relationship of ethnicity to other concepts and concepts, interpret ethnic identifications.
