Course content
1. Civil procedure - notion, sources, kinds of proceedings, basic terminology 2. Delivery, court files, court´s duty to instruct, protocols 3. Motions of participants, writs 4. Proceedings - initiation (commencement), preparation of oral hearing¨ 5. Oral hearing, evidence, decision 6. Appeal 7. Proceedings on capacity to act 8. Proceeding on appointment of guardian 9. Judicial care for minors 10. Preliminary rulings 11. Guardianship of minor children 12. Guardianship of people with disabilities

Learning outcomes
The aim is to give further details concering the civil proceeding. This information is for social workers very important, because the social work is targeted on "weaker subjects" who may be in need of protection of their rights also by court during the civil proceeding. The students are given basic information about civil proceedings and their role as guardians of participants in it.
The students will gain knowledge on legal regulation and also practical skills how to write motions for court proceedings.
Prerequisites
The student shall have basic knowledge on social protection of children and legal regulation of family law.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

The student has to be present at the tutorial and has to write down a document required (analyse of a case with suggestions how to protect the rights of the participant represented by him).
