Learning outcomes
|
The focus of the discipline is on the mastery of grammar and the ability to understand and work with a professional text in the chosen language. The aim of the discipline is to acquire the ability to work actively with a foreign language text for the purpose of using it in a professional text. The student chooses the foreign language according to the needs of his/her final thesis, except for Slovak. The student submits the written work primarily to the supervisor of his/her thesis. The programme supervisor records the attestation on the basis of the submitted assignment approved by the thesis supervisor. Completion of the discipline requires the submission of a research paper based on a translation of a foreign language text of at least 300 printed pages. The length of the research is at least 5 standard pages.
Work with professional foreign language text. Select relevant information from it. Be able to record and paraphrase relevant information. Produce a report on the content of a studied text.

- you will study a minimum of 300 printed pages of foreign-language professional text related to the topic of your thesis. Of course, you can use more than one source and more than one language at the same time (except Slovak). Sources should be selected in consultation with the thesis supervisor; Requirements: - You will produce a research paper of at least 5 standard pages (in Czech), which shows that you have understood the texts and can use their content for the purposes of your thesis. Sources must be carefully and credibly referenced; - send the research to your thesis supervisor with a suggestion on how the outputs can be used to achieve the aim of the thesis; - once the content of the research has been approved by your supervisor, upload the text here on Moodle as a correspondence assignment. You will certify your supervisor's approval with an affidavit; - you will then be credited with the attestation for KSA/CIJS in Stag.
