Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce mediation as a constructive, amicable method of conflict resolution. After completing the course, students will know the characteristics of interpersonal conflicts and people's reactions to them, the basic ways of conflict resolution, the background and basic characteristics of the mediation method. They will acquire basic mediation skills. They will have an overview of the possibilities of using mediation with an emphasis on andragogical practice. The course will be taught in an expository form combined with interactive techniques and group work.
Students will learn about the characteristics of interpersonal conflicts and people's reactions to them, basic ways of conflict resolution, the background and basic characteristics of the mediation method and the possibilities of its application with a focus on the Czech Republic. In interactive exercises, students will acquire basic mediation skills and try out the role of a conflict resolution mediator in model situations. Students will be able to recognize the stage of conflict development and adequately choose the appropriate method of conflict resolution.

For the completion of the course it is necessary active participation in the teaching, fulfilling the assigned tasks and successful completion of the colloquium - orientation verification of acquired knowledge and completion of a practical task in group form.
