Course content
1. Identifying a suitable institution/workshop/summer school. 2. Writing the application to participate. 3. Preparing the consultation topic, or abstract of the workshop/summer school presentation. 4. Planning the structure of the consultation/presentation and its suitable format (e.g. a formal written paper, PowerPoint, audio-visual presentation, poster). 5. Participation in the consultation with an international expert, or participation in the workshop/summer school activities according to the requirements detailed by the organisers and lectors. 6. Writing a report from the study stay. The course is supported by the project CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0179 Diverzifikace a systematizace postgraduálního studia na FF UP Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is a consultation/workshop/postgraduate summer school related to the dissertation topic and organised by an academic institution abroad.
Abilities to - identify a suitable institution/workshop/summer school; - prepare a topic for a consultation with an international specialist, or prepare a workshop/summer school topic and format; - relate own topic to the international context, or to the topics of the other workshop/summer school participants; - present the dissertation topic to an international audience; - communicate with the host institution abroad.

Assessment methods and criteria

Identifying a suitable institution and a specialist for consultation of the dissertation topic, or for self-education at a workshop/postgraduate summer school, following a consultation with the supervisor; preparing the consultation/presentation, active participation at the consultation/workshop/summer school; communication with the host institution. Students are required to submit a report from the study stay within 14 days after their return for the approval to their supervisors and the course guarantor. The report consists of the particulars of the host institution/event description, and a summary of own participation and benefits for the work on the dissertation topic. A certification of attendance is also required. Upravit!
