Course content
In this course, the stress is put on diverse periods and trends, such as medieval Spain, Renaissance, "Golden Age", Hispanic American literature of the colonial period, Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Generation 98, Hispanic American avantgarde, so called "nueva novela hispanoamericana", "postboom" etc. Individual periods will be discussed on the background of reading from works of the most important authors. Basic book, periodical and information sources.

Learning outcomes
The objective of the lecture is to familiarise the students with the basic methodology of the study of Spanish-written literature. The students should also get acquainted with the development of this literature.
Basic knowledge of literary history of the era, ability to analyse and interpret selected texts.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of literary history, orientation in the history of Spain and Latin America.
