Course content
The course will be quite practically oriented. We will look at many specific examples, and students will try translating and subtitling parts of films themselves. In a broader context, we will become acquainted with how distribution companies and film festivals operate, where subtitling skills can be applied. Specifically, we will explain how to approach these institutions and how to collaborate with them afterward. The course will also include a basic introduction to the history of cinematography and an overview of current trends in film. From this, we will subsequently derive the difficulty of translation and look for ways to handle it.
