Course content
The issue of translation of artistic texts. Application of theoretical knowledge to particular problems, functional styles or pragmatic phenomenons and their application to Czech language. One part of the course is dedicated to analyses of contemporary translations from Spanish. The student's creativity in Czech language is practiced by short exercises at the beginning of each lesson. Students work with classical dictionaries as well as with Internet sources. Translation of publicistic, essayistic, fictional and technical texts. Three or four page final paper is required.

Learning outcomes
The course is destined to the students who attended the course of Theory of translation and Translation exercise 1. The issue of translation of artistic texts. Application of theoretical knowledge to concrete problems, correct choice of language tools according to the style and function of the text.
Mastery of the subject matter within the scope defined in the Course Objectives.

1. Regular attendance and active participation in lectures and seminars. 2. Preparation for each class (text translation, ca. 30 standard pages)
