Learning outcomes
The main goal is improving all of the four language competences in Spanish: both active (speaking and writing) and passive (listening and reading). Even though the understanding of grammatical issues plays a crucial role in learning a foreign language, particularly within philological studies, special emphasis is put on the so called communicative competence of the students as well. It allows them to deal with most of the situations they can experience in Spanish speaking countries. Teaching is in all aspects based on the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for teaching foreign languages.
Acquiring the competences of common reference level B2: - Listening: understanding longer conversations, lectures and most of the TV programmes dealing with contemporary topics. - Reading: understanding articles and news dealing with contemporary problems and texts of contemporary prose. - Oral skills and speaking interaction: participation (active and spontaneously) in dialogues and discussions with native speakers on familiar topics. Mastering explanations of own viewpoints about current questions and articulating advantages and disadvantages of various solutions. - Writing skills: mastering the understanding of detailed texts on a wide range of topics dealing with own interests.
