Course content
1. Phonetics, its division. The emergence of phonology, sound and phoneme 1 (basic information). 2. History of phonetics. Its content and relationship to other fields. 3. Spoken language. Differences in languages sound. 4. Breathe and voice component of speech. Acoustic phonetics. Sonograph. The so-called. "Speech organs". 5. Drawings of the speech organs during articulation of vowels. Hellwag triangle. 6. Classification of consonants. 7. Drawings of the speech organs during articulation of consonants. 8. Latin American Spanish (phonetics). Differences between European and American Spanish. 9. Syllable, its structure and core. The differences between languages. Orthoepy. 10. Phonetic changes (particularly assimilation, metathesis, reduction). 11. Euphony, use in poetry, the differences between languages. 12. The emergence of phonology. Phone and phoneme 2 (more detailed information). Phonological opposition. 13. The use of knowledge of phonology in grammar and other social sciences.

Learning outcomes
The course focuses on explaining the basic concepts of phonetics and phonology and their application to the Spanish. It also examines the differences in the sound systems of Czech and Spanish. In addition, the course provides an overview of the phonetic and phonological differences between the most important varieties of European and American Spanish.
Students are familiar with the basic concepts of articulatory and acoustic phonetics and phonology in Spanish; they can produce phonetic transcriptions of selected texts; and they can distinguish between standard and non-standard pronunciation as well as basic dialectal differences in pronunciation.
