Course content
|
Demonstration of knowledge of the literary subjects forming the theoretical foundation of the programme and constituting part of the State Final Examination, namely Brazilian Literature and the Literatures of Lusophone Countries in Historical Context. The student draws one question from the list of topics for the State Final Examination in each of these subjects. The student submits a list of works read and discusses a selected body of thematically related literary works. For the Major and Minor Study Programme, a minimum of 20 titles is required (15 titles from Brazilian literature and 5 from African literature), of which 5 must have been read in the original language. For the Independent Study Programme, a minimum of 35 titles is required (30 titles from Brazilian literature and 5 from African literatures), of which 10 must have been read in the original language. In addition, the student discusses a topic of their choice from Portuguese literature. Students following the Independent Study Programme will additionally discuss a topic of their choice either from Brazilian literature or from Lusophone African literatures. The topics are selected according to the student's interests and based on the compulsory or elective courses completed during their studies. The choice of topics must be discussed in advance with the relevant instructor, and at the examination the student will submit a list of the literature studied in relation to the selected topics.

Learning outcomes
|
Prove the ability of all field included in final state examination ( Language - Phonetics and Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Lexicology, Stylistics, Dialectology of Portugal and Brazil, History of language, Text analysis. Literature - Theory of literature, Portuguese literature, Brazilian literature).
Students will prove their active knowledge of Portuguese language (level C2) and orientation in all fields which form the final examination.
