Course content
|
In this seminar, students will practise translation of regular business correspondence. Attention is also paid to translation of Portuguese literary texts, both modern and older, and to the Czech theories of translation.Functional styles or pragmatic phenomenons and their application to Czech language.

Learning outcomes
|
In this seminar, students will develop and practise their skills acquired in the courses Translation Practice 1 and 2. Students will practise application of theoretical knowledge to concrete problems, functional styles or pragmatic phenomenons and their application to Czech language.The issue of translation of artistic texts. The stress is put mainly on literary translations (prose and poetry) and on musical translation.
Students will improve their skills translating literary and musical texts from Portuguese to their mother tongue.
