1. Types of specialized texts, types of research, types of excerpts 2. Stages of working I: choosing a theme, searching for sources (factual research, analytical and synthetical stages of preparation), evaluating sources, studying and using sources 3. Stages of working II: working on an outline, concept, editing the concept, and final modifications of the work, writing an introduction and a conclusion 4. Citations, paraphrases and copyright 5. Scholarly functional style

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this class is to introduce students to basic scientific methodology in the field of humanities. The students will deal with basic rules concerning content, as well as form of a scientific work.
The student will learn how to define a scholarly theme in such a manner which will result in an 80-page-long thesis and will learn how to structure text so it contains logical and sequential argumentation and overall coherence.
