Course content
|
The course concentrates on practising basic grammar and vocabulary but it also deals with the vocabulary from the field of study of every student, necessary for writing the thesis (eg. linguistics, literature, history).The students will be taught basic terminology of his field of study.

Learning outcomes
|
The students should be able to communicate in Portuguese, achieving the level B2/C1 of European Reference Framework of Languages. The course concentrates on practising basic grammar and vocabulary but it also deals with the vocabulary from the field of study of every student, necessary for writing the thesis.
They should be able to communicate in everyday situations and they should be familiar with basic grammar. They should also be able to talk about the topic of their thesis in Portuguese.

Prerequisites
|
The students should pass at least one course of "Portuguese for students from other departments" (KRP/PZAC1 - 8), corresponding to intermediate level.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam, Analysis of linguistic
ORAL EXAM 1) introduction of the student (max. 5 minutes) - field of study, study stays abroad, contact with a foreign language, publications, etc. - answering any questions based on the submitted CV; 2) presentation of the doctoral thesis´project (max. 15 minutes: 10 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for discussion) - presentation of the doctoral thesis - content, goals, methods, etc. (max. 10 slides) - answering any questions related to the presentation and/or doctoral thesis; 3) work with an academic text (max. 15 minutes) - summary of the article, justification of its choice, connection to the field of study and/or to the thesis - answering any questions related to the selection or content of the article. WRITTEN MATERIALS (the student submits them at least 10 working days before the oral exam): 1) structured CV; 2) slides of the presentation of the doctoral project in the range of a maximum of 10 pictures (including the introduction and conclusion); 3) a professional article related to the doctoral thesis and/or field of study in the range of 10-30 pages.
