Course content
Medieval countryside. Analysis of a field letting contract. Characters of urban life, social groups. Chronical texts and laudationes urbium analysis. Economical, cultural and religion emargination of individuals. Examination records and heretical texts. Womens?s position, familiar and sexual life, children position. Educational systems and its levels. Teacher?s position, nature of his work, universities? structure and role. Reeding of didactic texts and university statutes. Development of visual arts with relation to economical and political background. Art and ideology of leading classes. Specific features of some towns (Florence, Venice, Genua, Naples).

Italian medieval society through written and material sources
