Course content
|
The course offers intensive readings of works by authors from the second half of 20th-century Italian literature, including: Primo Levi Italo Calvino Pier Paolo Pasolini Anna Maria Ortese Dino Buzzati Antonio Tabucchi Eugenio Montale Carlo Levi Roberto Saviano Leonardo Sciascia. In addition, the historical context of the time will also be studied.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen students' knowledge of contemporary Italian literature, demonstrate in more detail the tendencies of development in this period, with major names of literary life. Students will get acquainted with the emerging artists of the contemporary scene, with the most interesting genres, themes, authorial poetics. Chronological definition is approximately from the 40´s of the 20th century to the present.
The course offers the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the works of some classics of 20th-century Italian literature. In addition, it aims to enhance the student's skills (analysis and interpretation of literary texts). In addition, the course aims to present the historical context of the texts under study.

Prerequisites

It is recommended to take the course after attending the courses on medieval and modern Italian literature.
