Course content
|
The course leads students to two practical outputs: a) acquire basic skills for the elaboration of scientific texts; b) acquire a methodology of scientific research strategies and opportunities. The first lessons of the course focus on working with vocabulary and on the rules of punctuation, spelling and also on compositional strategies of written text. In addition, attention is paid to the strategy of reading and selecting information from professional texts, elaboration of bibliography and notes. In the last lessons, practical activities of drafting and reviewing specialized texts will take place, with particular attention to formal and editorial issues. One lecture will be devoted to the use of AI in research and textual analysis. All used texts will be available in moodle. The course ends with a short written work (writing and revision) verifying knowledge and skills based on the content of the course (5-8 pp.).

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the methodology of scientific work and with formal requirements of a scientific text.
Students get acquainted with the methodology of scientific work and with formal requirements of a scientific text. They will learn to find out information and work with sources and to cite them. The course also defines the criteria for designing and structuring an academic text, engaging with one's supervisor, and organizing exposition and argumentation.

Participation in seminars, reading specified literary and scientific texts, passing the exam.
