Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to offer a comprehensive picture of Italian society over the past hundred years, reconstructed through the analysis of literary works, which are examined both linguistically and interpretatively. This objective is grounded in a high conception of literature, understood as a tool capable of engaging with the complexity of reality and of providing a nuanced, consistently attentive, and profound perception of it.
The course provides students with fundamental hermeneutic competences essential for the exercise of critical thinking, enabling them to develop an active and inquisitive intellectual attitude while moving beyond the mere passive reception of study materials. To this end, the lectures adopt an approach closely integrated with the historical and social context, within which economic, broadly cultural, demographic, and strictly historical aspects are examined in depth.
