1. Methodological notes about iconography; 2. Romanic and gothic architecture: peculiarities and differences; 3. The mediaeval sculpture: Giovanni and Nicola Pisano; 4. The mediaeval painting: Cimabue e Giotto; 5. The Renaissance: main ideas and the great masters; 6. Caravaggio and the Baroque period; 7. Specific dictionary, Italian language training with particular attention to oral and written production

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to give an overview of the most important periods of Italian art history (Medieval art, Renaissance and Baroque) while developing Italian language skills in context. We will focus on an iconographical study, giving the bases to recognize the different styles and decode the messages of the artistic works.
