Course content
Grammar: 1. Rules of Italian pronunciation, Italian alphabet. 2. Personal pronouns, verb Essere; negation; courtesy addressing; articles and their use in the singular; "declination" in Italian. 3. Verbs Avere and Andare; articles and their use in the plural; expressions Poco, Molto, Tanto, Quanto. 4. Verbs of the 1st and the 2nd conjugation; preposizioni articolate; verb Piacere; c´e´, ci sono; adjective Bello in position before the noun; elision, apocope. 5. Verbs of the 3rd conjugation, verbs Fare, Dare, Uscire; modal verb Potere; cardinal numbers 1-20; saying the time. Conversation topics and developing communication skills in Italian: 1. Greetings, basic introduction phrases, pronouncing requests, acknowledgments, apologies. 2. How to order at a restaurant and a coffee room; comparing Italian and Czech cuisine and eating habits. 3. Birthday Celebration; visit; colours; disco. 4. Television and film.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to master the Italian grammar and vocabulary in a given range. Attention is paid to the practical application of this knowledge through language exercises, developing the communication skills.
Students will gain the ability of basic communication in Italian.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Systematic Observation of Student

Active participation in seminars, preparation for every lesson. Passing the written test.
