This course covers the following topics: The presence of the French in Maghreb and the struggle for independence in Algeria Islamism and its influence on the position of French in the Arabic world Arabic, black and francophone culture in Mauretania Francophone music in Maghreb Francophone music in Sub-Saharan Africa

Learning outcomes

The objective of this course is to make the students familiar with the history and culture of the selected francophone countries. The emphasis is put mainly on the most recent events.
to understand the history and culture of the selected francophone countries outside Europe to become familiar with the culture of the selected non-European francophone countries to develop the ability to work with texts from the individual francophone countries
