Course content
The course will cover the following topics: 1. Phrase simple, phrase complexe 2. Relations syntaxiques 3. Conjonctions de coordination, de subordination 4. Propositions subordonnées 5. Constructions infinitives, participiales 6. Figures stylistiques 7. Perspective fonctionnelle de la phrase

Learning outcomes
To enrich and systemize the knowledge of French syntax, with emphasis on the application of theory in practice. The attention will be paid to the analysis of compound and complex sentence and to functional sentence/text perspective.
1/ to manage to learn the knowledge form the given field 2/ to be able to deduce and explain the rules of the syntactical phenomena 3/ to identify the deviations from the standard 4/ to distinguish the stylistic acceptability of use of the linguistic means from different registers
Prerequisites
It is recommended to take first the course Selected topics from French syntax.
