Course content
During the 1st semester, the theory regarding simple sentence will be discussed (nominal group, verbal group, copulative and attributive verbs, nominal group in function of attribute, the position of attribute in a sentence, verbs without syntactical complementation, verbs with syntactical complementation, transitive and intransitive verbs, verb in passive, types of sentences and simple modality of simple sentence. Other topics: the French word order, functional sentence perspective, transposition, analysis and typology of discourse.

Learning outcomes
The lecture is focused on strategies used in syntactical analysis (substitution and commutation) and on basic syntactical rules.
Students become able to analyse morphological and syntactic aspects of the text. The emphasis is put on the analysis of simple sentences.
