Course content
|
The first semester is dedicated to the culture of the oral and written expression in French and Czech languages. The translation from/to French is trained on shorter and easy texts, complemented with exercises oriented to specific problems of the grammar, style and culture (French articles and equivalents in Czech, possession, relative clauses, adverbials, prepositions, word order, simple sentences, stylistic levels of the language, foreign words, false friends, puns, provers etc.).

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of the course is to provide a basic training in the translation practice, to acquaint the students with the principal translation methods and approaches and to point out the most important problems of translation.
- ability to translate a text from and to French language - analysis of the translated text, comparative approach to Czech and French texts - improvement of the culture of the oral and written expression - enhancement of the vocabulary

|
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student
Regular attendance and preparation for the seminar. Active participation. Fulfilment of the assignments set by the teacher.
