Course content
|
The subject presents the development of the dramatic forms in Romance literatures from the beginning of the secular theatre in national languages up to the present time. It is focused also on the transformations of the popularity of the genres and authors in different historic periods with attention paid to the aesthetics of the period and the political-social situation. The reception of the more important authors in the Czech context is observed as well. A special attention is paid to the form of comic representation.

The objective of this course is to understand the development of the dramatic forms in Romance literatures from the beginnings of the secular theatre in the national languages up to the present time.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)
The student must actively take part in the lessons. For the exam, he or she must have covered the scope of the lectures and the recommended specialised literature and to see 10 classic plays (in the theatre, on DVD, VHS, or at least read the scenario/screenplay if unavailable in other form) from different works of different Romance literatures.
