Course content
|
1. Narratology as a modern literary discipline within poetics. 2. The pioneers of naratology and its origin. 3. Definition of the basic terms (storytelling, story, narration) with respect to the history of the research in narratology. 4. Definition of the narrative categories (narrator, plot, characters, time and space). 5. The model of literary communication, the narrative perspective and the typology of narrators 6. The issue of the "narrative grammar". 7. The most recent tendencies in narratological research.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of the course is to enrich the student?s knowledge about naratology. The course is focused on description and analysis of the narrative structure.
The student will enrich his or her knowledge of narratology, is able to apply it on a particular text and provide relevant arguments in an academic discussion and to present a paper.
