Course content
|
This course will cover the following topics: 1. The outset of positivism, realism and naturalism; the role of science. Flaubert, Goncourt, Maupassant, Daudet, Zola. 2. Parnassianism and its representatives. 3. Decadence and symbolism. 4. Tendencies in criticism of the 19th century: biographical, dogmatic and impressionist criticism.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to make the students familiar with the main literary movements of the 19th century and the authors. The seminars are focused on a detailed literary-theoretical analysis of the principal works.
The acquired competences correspond with the specified objectives of the course.
