Course content
|
Critical and polemical orientation of the Enlightenment rationalism and empirism in literature. Sentimentalism and preromanticism. Montesquieu. Voltaire. Diderot. Prévost. Rousseau. Theatre in the 18th century: Marivaux, Beaumarchais. Mme de Staël - from the classicism towards the sentiment, nature and foreign literatures.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to make the students familiar with the main literary movements of the 18th century and the authors. The seminars are focused on a detailed literary-theoretical analysis of the principal works.
The acquired competences correspond with the specified objectives of the course.
