Two-semester course International Relations 1 and 2 is a compulsory course for the students of the first grade of the Bachelor programme in International Relations and Security. The course contents are part of the state exam at the end of the first grade. Until full capacity, the course is available as a B module for students of other Bachelor programmes. The main goal of the course is to introduce students to the complex issue of international relations and various attempts to approach it scientifically. The first semester (International Relations 1) is organised into four main themes - Actors, power and interests in international relations; Territory and space; Cooperation, international organisations and global governance; Alternative approaches to IR.
Understanding of crucial paradigms, theories and approaches to international relations. Critical thinking about contemporary IR issues. Prerequisite for further IR and international security courses.
