Learning outcomes
The course is focused on the basic range of topics of philosophy of science in the analytical tradition. Main topics: scientific explanation and laws, structure of scientific theories, testing of scientific hypotheses, development of sciences, etc. The aim of the course is to further elaborate on theoretical parts of the mandatory course Methodology of Science. Systematic investigation of the conceptual network of mostly natural sciences. The course will involve reading and analysing of seminal texts, classic and contemporary.

Prerequisites
The course is a direct continuation of the course Methodology of Science. Students are expected to have at least passive knowledge of the English language, as some of the texts are only available in English.
