The course acquaints students with basic problems of neuropsychology of music, which is a greatly developing interdisciplinary field dealing mainly with neuronal correlates of music activities and music specifics of persons with neurological diagnosis.
After finishing the course students will understand the processes taking place in the nervous system and connected with music by a healthy man as well as by persons with neurological specifics and disorders. Students get insight into brain operations performed when we listen to music (when we play a music instrument, sing etc.), which makes it possible to better understand music as such. Students will also be acquainted with methods of achieving new findings in this field. |

The subject doesn´t require any special prerequisites, knowledges of structure and functin of human nervous system is an advantage, but the lessons will cover everything needed.

Mark, Student performance
Attendance and active participation, presentation of a review. The exam proves orientation of the student in the problems in the amount of lectured issues and obligatory literature. |
