Learning outcomes
|
The course consists of regular individual consultations between the student and the supervisor of the research paper. Where appropriate, instruction may also be delivered in the form of seminars for a specialised group of students.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student is able to independently design and conduct research leading to the preparation of a scholarly study. The student is able to critically engage with scholarly literature, primary sources, research materials, and data; select an appropriate methodological approach; analyse and interpret research findings; and develop a concept for a scholarly study that meets the standards of academic writing.

Successful completion of the course requires the submission of work-in-progress research, including the formulation of the research problem and objectives, an assessment of the current state of research, a description of the methodological approach, an overview of the sources, research materials, or data used, preliminary analytical findings, and a proposed structure for the scholarly study in preparation.
