1. The principles of writing a specialised review. The introduction to the pro-seminar work 'The State of Research' ('Stav bádání') and 'The Music Life in a Region' ('Hudební život v regionu'). 2. Learning outcomes

The proseminar relates to Introduction to Musicology course. It covers the practical aspects of musicological work (essay, recherché, annotation, conspectus, report, review, article, discussion, etc.)
Acquired knowledge: The student knows the approaches of the search and evaluation of sources and literature, the heuristics of daily press and periodicals, and the principles of the evaluation of a specialised text. Acquired qualifications: The student: - is able to write a review of a specialised publication, - gets a command of specialised argumentation, - learns how to construct a complete image of music culture from the found fractional information, - is able to assess the quality of preserved sources and existing literature, and - understand a specialised text. Acquired competences: The student is able to use acquired knowledge and skills in future written work of a seminar character, mainly in the dissertation work.
