Antonio Vivaldi 19. Henry Purcell 20. Johann Sebastian Bach 21. Georg Friedrich Händel 22. Baroque music in Bohemia and Moravia 23. Classical period as a term and style category 24. Early classical period and its centers (Mannheim, Berlin, Vienna, etc.) 25. Development of sonata and sonata form 26. Opera in the 2nd half of the 18th century 27. Joseph Haydn 28. Learning outcomes
The overview of European music culture and the changes of styles from the beginning of Barock era till present. The spesifics of music development in western and eastern Europe. The characteristics of European music mind.
The course graduate will acquire knowledge of history of European music.
Prerequisites
Student should have a general knowledge of history of Europe from 1600 to present period.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Thorough knowledge of all items presented on the reading list, essay.
