Learning outcomes
|
The course focuses on analysis of compositions of different periods with focus on 19 and 20 centuries music. The core of the subject is analysis of harmony, instrumentation and tectonic analysis.
The student is able to analyse more difficult compositions (for example a symphony) of different style

Prerequisites
|
Very good foundation in music theory (harmony, counterpoint, forms, tectonics etc.).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)
The student has to demonstrate the knowledge of analytical methods and has to be able to analyse 2 compositions of different periods.
