Course content
Completion of the course "Musicologist in Practice" is dependent on the student's individual work. We recommend combining the Professional Practice component with the selection of a notable figure in the field, whose work the student will examine in depth. Students may choose the focus of the "Musicologist in Practice" course from a list provided by the Department of Musicology (the list is updated regularly; see "Professional Practice"), or they may submit their own proposal to the course coordinator for approval.

  • Homework for Teaching - 42 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This course introduces students to the roles in which musicologists are actively involved in the world of music.
Students will gain an understanding of the requirements for specific musical professions.
Prerequisites
A basic overview of the institutional structure of Czech musical life (theaters, orchestras, festivals, educational institutions, media, etc.).

Student performance, Questionnaire

Preparation for the seminar (guest's resume, etc.), active participation in the seminar, and reflection via a questionnaire.
