Course content
An overview of aesthetical thinking from an ancient era to the present.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training)
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 35 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 15 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The lectures depict the beginnings of thinking on art and beauty in the ancient Greece and Rome. They concentrate on the most important aesthetic categories that predetermined the way the western aesthetic tradition conceptualizes issues of art up to now.
The students will get basic knowledge of the history of European aesthetics including main categories.

None.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark

Attendance (3 absences maximum) and active participation, review of a chosen publication, reliable knowledge of problematics in the amount of lectured issues and obligatory literature.
