Course content
|
The themes follow the subject matter of Dissertation Seminar 1 (DISK1) from the previous term. 1. Citations, paraphrases, and own text in accordance with study and work with literature. A question of the scientific contribution of the compilation. Dissertation as a connection of concise heuristics and intellectual performance. 2. Annotation apparatus and bibliographic norms. 3. Scientific hypothesis and its verification. Thesis of the compiled text. 4. The process of defence, the technique of own presentation before the jury for defence. 5. Projects of dissertation in music theory 1 (ca 5 standard pages of text) with a discussion among all students about the content and methodological as well as formal questions of the presented text. 6. Projects of dissertation in musical theory 1 (ca 5 standard pages of text) with a discussion among all students about the content and methodological as well as formal questions of the presented text. 7. Projects of dissertation in music aesthetics or other discipline of music science 1 (ca 5 standard pages of text) with a discussion among all students about the content and methodological as well as formal questions of the presented text. 8. Projects of dissertation in music region studies 1 (ca 5 standard pages of text) with a discussion among all students about content and methodological as well as formal questions of the presented text. 9. The ethics of a scientific work. Ethical code. Plagiarism in a university publishing activity. Authorship and co-authorship of a specialised text. A co-operation with the supervisor. Priorities in the musical-scientific research. 10. Editor and text. 11. RIV, RUV, RILM, RISM, Music Index, world impacted journals of the sphere of music science, Czech reviewed music scientific periodicals (Hudební věda, Musicalia, Hudební výchova, Opus musicum, Musicologica Brunensia a Musicologica Olomucensia). 12. Final adjustments and the correction of a specialised text.

Learning outcomes
|
Discussion-oriented seminar with emphasis on methodological issues connected to a various stages of the dissertation process is targeted for students from the third year of bachelor studies. Students are expected to participate in classroom activities and to prepare a presentation on the chosen subject (5 pages of text).
Acquired knowledge: The student gets a good command of musical-historical and musical-theoretical facts from the chosen thematic sphere of the dissertation assignment. The student can: - independently work with studied literature, and - evaluate preserved sources about the chosen thematic sphere of the dissertation assignment. Acquired qualifications: The student is a specialist in the thematic sphere defined by the dissertation assignment.
