Course content
The course is designed for students who wish to complete BA Arts Studies degree in the respective academic year. It is an oral exam in front of a jury, which each part generally lasts about 15-30 minutes. The course and other requirements of the exam regulated by the Study and Examination Regulations of the Palacký University Olomouc. Final (Bachelor) state examination consists of three parts: 1. Bachelor's Thesis Defense; 2. Examination in History of Arts (History of music, theater, film and fine arts); 3. Examination in Aesthetics and General Theory of Arts.

Learning outcomes
The examination should check student´s knowledge and skills from the fields of art studies.
The aim of the BA exam is to confirm students have the knowledge of the field, they can actively use modern methods and acquired essential specialist skills, knowledge and competence that they may employ in their future profession or further study. Successful completion of the BA exam demonstrates that students acquired sufficient knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the requirements of their respective study programmes and study fields.
Prerequisites
A student may take the final Bachelor exam after he/she has met all requirements given in the curriculum design of the Arts Studies filed set up by the Department of Musicology and all rules contained in the Study and Examination Statute of the Palacký University in Olomouc.

Mark, Oral exam, Student performance

Solid orientation in the theory and the history of arts, including in aesthetics. Requirements and reading lists will be published by the guaranteeing department on www.musicology.upol.cz
