Course content
|
Instrumentation of baroque, classical style, romantic, new-romantic and impressionistical instrumentation and instrumentation techniques in the 20 century music.

Learning outcomes
|
The course gives a survey about the history of instrumentation. Students have to be able to play parts of the score on the piano, and to have good orientation in transpositions of instruments. Playing cadenzas in different kees is also part of the course.
Student have a survey in the history of instrumentation.

Prerequisites
|
Good knowledge of music theory, harmony and basic ability in playing the piano.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Delivering a paper, in which the student demonstrates basic competences of analysing music on an example of a selected musical piece.
